Training Summit

Join us on April 4, 2024 as we host an all-day training summit for persons in the child welfare field. The event will be held at the UGA Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia. Special guest speakers will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. Updates will be announced here and on our social media as we get closer to the event.

Our participants come from a diverse background, and are leaders serving their communities in Federal, State, and Local government, business, and non-profit organizations.
Continuing Education credits will be available in certain fields. Cost is $100 per person, to include a box lunch provided. Please contact us for more information.

About Us

Alliance for Children Georgia is a non-profit organization that gauges the health and well-being of children in our area and seeks to connect them with appropriate resources and services.

Alliance for Children Georgia serves children in need directly through resources donated by benefactors and partners with other local organizations to support children in our community in other ways.

Alliance for Children Georgia also organizes and hosts an annual summit in Tifton, Georgia, bringing well-known speakers and much-needed training to South Georgia. Attendees at the summits include law enforcement, educational leaders, social workers, lawyers, and medical professionals from across the state.

Cindy Evers

CEO & Founder

Cindy Evers calls Tifton, Georgia, home and serves as the Executive Director of Alliance For Children Georgia, non-profit serving children in crisis.  She is a practitioner of Christian community involvement and encourages other women to get involved in their community.  Cindy works tirelessly for women and children in crisis as one of the seven founders of Ruth’s Cottage and the Patticake House, a Domestic Violence Shelter and Children’s Advocacy Center in Tifton, GA.  A student of the word of God, Cindy delights in teaching and encouraging women to stand firm in the empowerment that the word of God brings.  In addition to numerous community activities, she has been the Director of Women’s Ministries at Northside Baptist Church for 24 years.

Cindy was married to Dr. Fred Evers for 44 years until his death in 2020.  She is Mom to Joshua, Daniel, and Katie and finds great joy in being Yaya to Grace Ann, Jordan, Jase, Lawson, Madi, Colby Leigh, Charlotte Rose, and Landry.

Amy Green-Brandenburg

Secretary & Legal Counsel

Amy began her legal career in Tifton, working as a college summer legal assistant to the S.A.A.G. representing the Department of Family and Children Services for several counties in South Georgia. 
 
After graduating from Georgia Southern University and obtaining her J.D. at New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, Amy spent years practicing family law in Boston and across eastern Massachusetts.  During that time, she co-edited Chapter 2 of the Massachusetts Divorce Law Practice Manual and on multiple occasions received the First Justices’ Award for Pro Bono Publico Excellence for her pro bono work. 
 
Amy then spent several years in NYC working for several global companies were she was responsible for certain day-to-day operations of the firms, including contract negotiation, managing employees, and overseeing, reviewing, and approving firm operating expenses. 
 
Amy returned to South Georgia in 2018 and opened her own law office where she practices child welfare law.  She represents children and parents in juvenile courts across the state, serves as a guardian ad litem advocating for the best interests of children in probate and superior courts, and represents families in adoptions.  
 
Outside the office, Amy is most likely with her husband, their daughter, and their three doodles! 

Steve Shaw

Financial Officer

Steve Shaw is the church administrator for Northside Baptist Church in Tifton, GA. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Valdosta State University. Steve has been the financial officer of Alliance for Children since its inception in 2021.

Steve and his wife, Cindy, have been married for over 20 years. They are the parents of two delightful teenagers, Nathan and Sophie. Steve enjoys playing golf, hunting, and watching UGA football in his spare time.

Ashley Evers

Social Media Specialist

Ashley has been working hand-in-hand with her mother-in-law, Cindy, since the earliest days of Alliance for Children Georgia. She believes firmly in fighting for the health and well-being of children in her community, advocacy of children of all abilities, and greatly enjoys seeing all that Alliance for Children Georgia does for children in the greater Tift County area.  
 
Ashley has been married to her husband, Daniel, since 2004.  Together, they have three daughters whom Ashley homeschools each day.  She believes teaching her daughters to be strong, fierce, God-loving women is one of the most important roles she’ll ever have on this earth. After her husbands retirement from the Marine Corps, Ashley, Daniel, and their girls moved to the Northern Neck of Virginia where they enjoy building their mini-farm and homestead.
